Dr. Bassam Ajoul is the founder and managing partner of Masters Legal Accountants (MLA), a leading audit, accounting, and tax firm in the UAE. He earned his License in Economics & Commerce with a focus on Business Administration from the University of Damascus in 1980, followed by a Diploma in Commercial Accounting and Auditing from the Al Jazairi Institute of Science in 1981.

From 1981 to 1992, Dr. Ajoul gained valuable experience as the Finance & Administrative Manager at Gulf Industries Company (PSC) and as a Senior Auditor at Al Khader & Co. In 1992, he founded MLA, which has since become one of the most respected firms in the region.

Dr. Ajoul holds numerous professional certifications, including the Arabic Certified Public Accountant (1999) and Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (2009). He also completed a Management Skills Placement Test at the American University of Dubai in 2018 and earned an MBA from the Leadership & Management Global Organization. Additionally, he holds an Emirates Certified Public Accountant designation, a Certificate in Team Leading from the Institute of Leadership & Management (UK), an Honorary Doctorate from the World Federation of United Nations Friends (WFUNF) College of Diplomatic Studies, and certifications in Family Business Advising and Family Wealth Advising from the Family Firm Institute Global Education Network.

In 1993, Dr. Ajoul was registered as an Authorized Accountant and Auditor in Dubai, and in 1998, he was registered as an Authorized Auditor with the UAE Federal Ministry of Economy and Commerce. He is also a certified Tax Agent with the UAE Federal Tax Authority. His extensive experience includes being registered in the Roster of Accountants and Banking Experts in Dubai Courts in 1996, where he has handled around 3,000 court-appointed cases, including those related to accounting, liquidation, bankruptcy, legal guardianship, insolvency, and estates/inheritance. He has also issued over 500 consultancy reports for civil and criminal courts and participated in approximately 75 arbitration cases, serving as a solo arbitrator, chairman, and tribunal member.

Dr. Ajoul is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Accountants and Auditors Association in the UAE, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Arab Society of Certified Accountants (ASCA), and the Accounting & Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). He is also involved with the Arab Anti-Corruption Organization (AACO), the General Union of Arab Experts, and the World Federation of United Nations Friends (WFUNF). Additionally, he is an associate member of the Association of Certified Accountants in Syria.

As an accredited arbitrator, Dr. Ajoul is recognized by numerous arbitration centers, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Egyptian Chamber for International Commercial Arbitration, and the International Islamic Center for Reconciliation and Arbitration. His contributions have solidified his reputation as a leading expert in accounting and legal matters in the UAE.
